SUNDAY MORNING PROGRAM

Time: Sundays, Sept – June 10:00am – 11:15am
The Sunday School runs parallel to the worship time with the whole church family joining in worship for the first 20 minutes of the service. Following the “Children’s Conversation”, the children go to the hall for age appropriate programs. Programming is available for children ages three through grade 5, with a toddler nursery/baby fold provided for those two and under. Youth in grades 6-12 head upstairs to the youth room where our youth worker creates a program engaging to teens.
Our congregation uses a variation of the Rotation Model. We begin as a large group for the story and music then separate into age/grade groupings for activities at a variety of centres which relate to the bible story. The Bible story for the unit will be presented with a unique approach for each of the 4 weeks. And because we believe so strongly in the spiritual gifts and insights that children bring, we encourage adults of all ages to participate in a short term (3-4 week) commitment of leadership throughout the year.
Our themes for this year are:

November – The story of Jonah
December – Advent – expecting the unexpected
January – Jesus and the Woman who touches his cloak
February – Cain and Abel
March – Jacob and Esau
April – Palm/passion and Easter
May – letters from Paul
June –Pentecost

PARENT AND TOT

This is a place for parents, grandparents and caregivers to socialize while watching their children playing with other children. Coffee is available for adults, but due to allergy concerns we ask that you please bring your own snack.
SPRING BREAK MUSICAL 4!
Date: March 12-16, 2012. Time: 9:00am – 3:00pm daily
Leaders: Mark Green, Christine Chepyha and Friends
Cost: $140.00 per child
For the first week of Spring Break, spend your days with us, creating a dynamic musical with performances on Fri. Mar. 16th & Sat. Mar. 17th. Together we will: learn the musical score, cast speaking parts, create dramatic roles, assist in set design and completion, and as always, have time for games and swimming. Space is limited to 40 children. Registration begins Jan. 2012.
RELIGION AND LIFE AWARD
Dates: TBA by interest (3 sessions)

This is an opportunity for all Cubs and Brownies who want to earn their Religion and Life badge to join with others to review the basics of the Christian faith and identify the connections with their own life and the purposes of the Scouting movement. Day chosen will depend on schedule of those expressing interest. For more information click here
SUMMER CAMP
Date: July and August, 2012.
Where: Camp Pringle on Shawnigan Lake
Who: Boys and Girls in grades 1 – 9.
Summer camp is an opportunity for your child to have an outdoor camp experience in a United Church setting. There are a variety of weeks to choose from for each age group. Camp registration forms are made available in April. Contact the church office or check the brochure rack by the front door. Bursaries are available for those children needing assistance. CBUC offers most of these programs at no charge to participants.
If you are interested, just register or drop in. Church membership is not necessary.
