MAKE A JOYFUL NOISE V6.0 – AN INVITATION TO SING!: The choir at Cadboro Bay United will be back with the 6th version of “Make a Joyful Noise” on Friday, May 4th at 7pm.  If you’ve ever wanted to sing but can’t commit to our usual Thursday evening practices, this is your opportunity to join us.  We meet for 3 Saturday mornings to work on singing technique and our concert repertoire, and we welcome new singers to come and ‘test sing’ us out!  Rehearsals will happen in the CBUC sanctuary on February 25, March 31 and April 21, (all at 9:30am til noon) and in between, song files will be available online to help you with your practice.  We’ve got some great music to share during the concert, and this is a wonderfully caring and fun-loving community within the larger church.  Contact Christine (250.882.5668, cchepyha@gmail.com) for details.  We look forward to singing with you!

BILL C-4 is a  proposed piece of federal legislation that in its zeal to prevent human smuggling, in fact targets men, women and children fleeing countries where they face oppression and sometimes, even prosecution and death. Most mainline churches in Canada have expressed their opposition to this poorly crafted bill as has the Canadian Council for Refugees. A petition has been started which will be presented in the House by opposition MP’s in the near future. To indicate your opposition to Bill C-4, consider signing this petition, available in our church hall on Sunday, Feb. 26, along with other items of interest.
